Can we just take a second and raise a glass to October?? Because she showed up. Finally.
If you live down here you know exactly what I'm talking about. The beach traffic is gone. The bay is quiet again. You can actually get a parking spot, and nobody is blasting a speaker next to your towel. The air gets that crisp salty bite in the morning and the light goes all golden in the afternoon, and for a minute it feels like Cape May County hands itself back to the locals. I love summer, I really do. But fall down the shore? Fall is the deep breath after a long hard sprint.
And honestly, we earned it. Summer around here is a full-on CIRCUS (the good kind, mostly). Kids, markets, orders, sand in places sand should never be. So this month we're doing something radical. We're slowing down. We're putting on the big sweatshirt. And we're making a toast.
A toast to the change of season
Here's to the leaves that let go without making a big deal about it.

Here's to the friends who show up with snacks and stay way too late.
